Hall, Robert W. Jr. Sept. 25, 2005. Beloved companion of Ginger Watson; dear father of Shawn and Erin Hall; our dear grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many.

Services: Visitation from McLaughlin Funeral Home, 2301 Lafayette Ave., Wed., Sept. 28 from 4-8 p.m.

I didn't attend RGHS--but I worked with Bob at the Red Barn on Halls Ferry at "the wedge." He was a really nice guy who was fun to be around and you knew you could rely on if you needed him. An all-around solid guy. When I attended reunions, as a spouse, Bob and I would get together and talk, like we were still back there flippin' burgers. I'm sorry that someone like him isn't around now--when we need more like him!

Bob was my neighbor during High School so we hung out together quite often. I stayed in contact with Bob off and on over the years after graduation. He worked for one of the Railroad companies down on Hall Street for several years. As his health gradually got worse due to diabetes, he had to go on disability. When I last talked to Bob, late 2004 or early 2005, he was almost blind and was on daily dialysis for kidney failure. As I was tracking him down to let him know about the 40th reunion, I spoke to his ex-wife, only to find out he had passed away. He also had a son and a daughter. I talked to his son and he said Bob passed away on September 25th 2005. Rosemary, I also remember the car overheating during the parade. It was already a hot day and we turned the heater on to try to keep the car from overheating. Oh to remember those days.

He was just a Big Sweet Teddy Bear of a guy. He was one of the sweetest people I've ever known. He let us use his car for the Senior Homecoming Parade for the COE car and it took a long time to make and put all those flowers on his car. We did it in the garage at his house in Bellefountaine Neighbors. Then the car overheated in the parade because we put so many flowers over the vent on the hood of the car! I was really sad to hear of his death. He will be missed!

Bob was one of my best buddies. We built cars for Alton Dragstrip, fished tournaments and hung out every day, rain or snow. Sometimes we were the only car in Jennings Steak. (I know the curb service girls hated us). I was not aware that Bob passed until it was too late. I am sad when I think of Bob and the fun we had. My then girlfriend, Pat Murphy, lived at the corner of West Florissant and Goodfellow, behind Don's Mobil. Bob and I would sit on the balcony and watch the hot cars coming from Circle Steak, going to Jennings Steak.  Man, I think of him almost daily....I will look you up buddy, when it's my time....See you.
