I don't remember Harry from high school, but my ex-husband grew up with him in his neighborhood so we all hung out together after high school. Harry went to law school at SLUH after graduation when he was in a horrifying car accident which almost killed him and caused some brain damage. He spent many months recuperating and rebuilding his life. After this period in his life, he married and worked as a night manager at Pasta House on Delmar while going back to college. It was there that he was murdered while closing on a Friday night just before Christmas. He and his wife were to attend our friend's annual Christmas party the next day which turned into a memorial for Harry. Most of us were unable to go to work the following Monday as we were so upset as none of us had ever personally experienced the murder of a friend. He left behind a wife and two beautiful daughters who are now grown. Harry was known to us as the "Wild" man as he loved life and especially loved to dance--one of the few guys back then who did. Harry, I still remember your huge, beautiful smile and charm as if it was yesterday. They never caught the murderer.
tribute by Pam HauckI am so shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic death of my dear friend from UMSL. All through the years, I wondered about Harry as I moved from Missouri in 1977. He was a really special person who had so many friends. It does my heart good to know that he was happily married with two daughters but my heart aches for them to have lost a husband and father. After all these years, I send my blessings to his family.
